Mental Health Services (pronunciation: /ˈmɛntəl hɛlθ ˈsɜːrvɪsɪz/) refer to the array of professional services aimed at diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental disorders.

Etymology

The term "Mental Health Services" is derived from the English language. "Mental" comes from the Latin word "mentalis" meaning "of the mind", "Health" comes from the Old English word "hǣlth" meaning "wholeness, a being whole, sound or well", and "Services" comes from the Old English word "service" meaning "the action of serving, helping, or benefiting; conduct tending to the welfare or advantage of another".
