Mammary duct ectasia - (pronounced) (MA-muh-ree duct ek-TAY-zhuh) benign (non-cancerous) condition in which a milk duct under the nipple widens and thickens. This can cause the milk duct to become blocked and fluid to build up in it. There are usually no symptoms, but sometimes there can be a thick discharge from the nipple, or redness or tenderness of the nipple and nearby breast tissue. Ectasia of the milk duct is most common in women who are close to or have gone through menopause. Also called mammary gangectasia
