A Mental Disorder (pronounced men-təl dis-ˈȯr-dər), also known as a Mental Illness, is a condition that affects a person's thinking, feeling, behavior, or mood. These conditions deeply impact day-to-day living and may also affect physical health.

Etymology

The term "Mental Disorder" is derived from the Latin word "Mentis" meaning "of the mind" and the Old French "Desordre" meaning "lack of order".
