Ling (/lɪŋ/), in the field of medicine, refers to a type of therapeutic massage technique that was developed by Swedish physiologist, Pehr Henrik Ling.

Etymology

The term "Ling" is derived from the surname of its founder, Pehr Henrik Ling. Ling was a Swedish physiologist and fencing master who lived from 1776 to 1839. He is often credited as the father of Swedish massage, which is sometimes referred to as "Ling's system".
