laser - (pronounced) (LAY-zer) A device that shapes light into intense, narrow beams used to cut or destroy tissue, e. g. B. cancer tissue, can be used. It can also be used to reduce lymphedema (swelling caused by a buildup of lymph fluid in the tissues) after breast cancer surgery. Lasers are used in microsurgery, photodynamic therapy and many other methods of diagnosing and treating diseases
