GoPubMed

GoPubMed (pronounced: go-pub-med) is a knowledge-based search engine for biomedical texts. The system is designed to sort search results for user-defined topics, making it easier to find relevant information.

Etymology

The term "GoPubMed" is a combination of "Go" and "PubMed". "Go" is an English word that implies action or movement. "PubMed" is a free search engine accessing primarily the MEDLINE database of references and abstracts on life sciences and biomedical topics. The United States National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health maintains the database.

Function

GoPubMed retrieves biomedical texts from the MEDLINE database, which is maintained by the National Library of Medicine. It uses Gene Ontology and Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) to sort and categorize search results. This allows users to quickly navigate to relevant texts, making it a valuable tool for biomedical research.
