Frogman

Frogman (/ˈfrɒɡmən/; plural: frogmen) is a term used primarily to refer to a professional diver who is trained in scuba diving or swimming underwater in a military context. The term is sometimes used to refer to a civilian professional who works underwater.

Etymology

The term "frogman" first arose in the stage of development and history of diving. It is derived from the appearance of a diver in full gear, who looks somewhat like a frog. The term was coined during World War II.
