Fishery

Fishery (/ˈfɪʃəri/; from the Old English fiscere, meaning "fisherman") is a term that refers to the industry or occupation concerned with the catching, processing, or selling of fish, shellfish, or other aquatic animals. It can also refer to a place where such activities occur, or to the fish or other aquatic animals themselves.

Etymology

The term "fishery" comes from the Old English fiscere, which means "fisherman". It has been used in English since at least the 14th century to refer to the occupation or industry of catching fish.
