Drostanolone
Drostanolone
Drostanolone (pronounced as droh-stah-no-lone), also known as dromostanolone propionate, is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) and a derivative of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It was first described in 1959 and was introduced for medical use in 1961.
Etymology
The term "Drostanolone" is derived from the name of its original brand, Drolban. The suffix "-olone" is a common ending for many steroids, indicating its chemical structure.
Usage
Drostanolone is used primarily by athletes and bodybuilders for its muscle building and fat burning properties. It is also used in medicine for the treatment of breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
Side Effects
Like other anabolic steroids, Drostanolone can have several side effects, including acne, hair loss, and gynecomastia. It can also have more serious health risks, such as heart disease and liver damage.
