Dilate

Dilate (/daɪˈleɪt/ or /ˈdaɪ.leɪt/) is a term used in various fields of medicine, particularly in ophthalmology and cardiology. The term originates from the Latin word "dilatare", which means "to spread out" or "to expand".

In Cardiology, dilate refers to the widening of blood vessels, which can increase blood flow. This is often a response to certain medications or physical activity.
