Diagnostic test - (pronounced) (DY-ug-NAH-stik. . . ) test used to find out what disease or condition a person has based on their signs and symptoms. Diagnostic tests can also be used to plan treatment, find out how well the treatment is working, and make a prognosis. There are many different types of diagnostic tests. Examples include laboratory tests (like blood and urine tests), imaging tests (like mammography and CT scan), endoscopy (like colonoscopy and bronchoscopy), and biopsy.
