Declomycin - (pronounced) (DEH-kloh-MY-sin) substance being studied to measure bone growth in patients taking bisphosphonates (a type of medicine used to treat bone pain caused by some types of cancer) for breast cancer. It binds to newly formed bone. A biopsy is performed and bone growth is measured with a special microscope. Declomycin also blocks water absorption by the kidney and can bind calcium in bones. It's a type of tetracycline antibiotic and a type of bone marker. Also called demeclocycline hydrochloride
