Cybersex (also known as Internet sex, Net sex, Virtual sex or Digital sex) is a virtual sexual activity in which two or more people – who are connected remotely via computer network – send each other sexually explicit messages describing a sexual experience.

Etymology

The term "Cybersex" is a portmanteau word made up of "cyber", a prefix derived from "cybernetic", which comes from the Greek word κυβερνητικός (kybernētikos) meaning "skilled in steering or governing", and "sex", from the Latin "sexus" meaning "gender" or "sexuality".
