Chlamydophila psittaci - (pronounced) (kluh-mih-doh-FIH-luh see-TAH-chee) type of bacteria that can infect humans and animals. It spreads to humans from infected birds and can cause a lung infection called psittacosis. It can also cause infection of the conjunctiva (the membrane that lines the eyelids and covers the white part of the eye). This can increase your risk of a type of lymphoma called MALT lymphoma of the ocular adnexa, which is a type of B-cell lymphoma
