Caregiving (pronounced: care-giv-ing) is the act of providing unpaid or paid assistance to another individual who is unable to perform certain activities or tasks due to physical, mental, or emotional disability.

Types of Caregiving

Family Caregiving

Professional Caregiving

Professional caregiving involves providing care to individuals as a paid profession. This can include nurses, home health aides, and other healthcare professionals.

Informal Caregiving

Informal caregiving involves providing care to a friend, neighbor, or community member who is unable to care for themselves. This type of caregiving is often unpaid and can be sporadic or ongoing, depending on the needs of the individual.
