Cambridge

Cambridge (/ˈkeɪmbrɪdʒ/ KAYM-brij) is a term that is often associated with the prestigious University of Cambridge, a collegiate public research university in Cambridge, England. The term "Cambridge" has also been used in various medical contexts, such as the Cambridge Diet, a weight loss method developed at the University of Cambridge.

Etymology

The name Cambridge is derived from the River Cam, which flows through the city, and the Old English word for bridge, "brycg". The city's name in its original form was therefore "Cambridge", meaning "Bridge over the Cam".
