Bunk (/bʌŋk/), also known as bunk bed, is a type of bed in which one bed frame is stacked on top of another, allowing two or more beds to occupy the floor space usually required by just one.
Etymology
The term "bunk" originates from the mid-19th century, derived from the word "bunker", which refers to a built-in bed on a ship or a sleeping compartment in a dormitory.
