A breed is a stock of plant or animal of a particular kind such as cattle, dogs or other plants or amimals. The act of breeding an animal is a way to reproduce the animal by mating a male animal to that of a female animal usually within the species although cross species breeding is also possible in certain animals. An example of a cross species breeds would be mule, a cross between a male horse and female donkey.
