A Blog (pronounced: /blɒɡ/), is a type of website where content is presented in reverse chronological order. Blogs are typically the work of an individual, a small group, or a company. They often provide commentary, news on a particular subject, or function as more personal online diaries.

Etymology

The term "blog" is a shortened form of "weblog". The term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger on 17 December 1997. The short form, "blog", was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word weblog into the phrase we blog in the sidebar of his blog Peterme.com in April or May 1999.
