Applebee's (/ˈæpəlbiːz/) is a popular American casual dining restaurant chain that specializes in mainstream American dishes such as salads, chicken, pasta, and ribs. The name "Applebee's" is of English origin, derived from the founders Bill and T.J. Palmer's desire to create a restaurant that was as American as apple pie.

History

Applebee's was founded in 1980 by Bill and T.J. Palmer. The first restaurant was opened in Decatur, Georgia, and was originally named "T.J. Applebee's Rx for Edibles & Elixirs". The name was later changed to "Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar" to reflect the company's goal of providing a friendly, neighborhood environment.

The Applebee's menu features a variety of dishes that cater to different tastes and dietary needs. This includes a range of appetizers, main courses, desserts, and beverages.
