Agronomy

Agronomy (/əˈɡrɒnəmi/; from Ancient Greek ἀγρός agrós 'field' and νόμος nómos 'law') is the science and technology of producing and using plants in agriculture for food, fuel, fiber, and land restoration. It is both a humanitarian career and a scientific one.

Etymology

The term "Agronomy" comes from the Greek words "agros" meaning field, and "nomos" meaning law. Thus, it essentially means "laws of the field."
