Adult Education

Adult Education (pronunciation: /əˈdʌlt ˌɛdʒʊˈkeɪʃən/) refers to the practice of teaching and educating adults. This can take place in the workplace, through 'extension' or 'continuing education' courses at secondary schools, at a college or university, or within the community.

Etymology

The term "Adult Education" originates from the mid-19th century when public education became accessible for adults who had not had the opportunity to receive a formal education during their childhood.
