Addison's disease - (pronounced) (A-dih-sun dih-ZEEZ) A rare condition in which the adrenal glands do not produce enough hormones. Symptoms include weight loss, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, muscle weakness, fatigue, low blood sugar, low blood pressure, and blotchy or dark skin. Most cases of the disorder are caused by problems with the immune system, but it can also be caused by infections, cancer, or other diseases. Also called adrenal insufficiency
